Two foot, four fold. Boxwood and brass, full bound. A pair of divider tips are riveted to the base of the rule, showing a simpler design than in the original patent papers. They are hinged to extend and retract. This version seems to precede the patented design, which may have been a more marketable style. Rules of the style we have on offer were later stamped with the 1872 patent date.
